How to tile Windows in Gnome, Linux, Ubuntu
1. Install X-tile
2. Set the preferences to apply only the current workspace. This way it won't tile windows from all of the workspaces into the current workspace; X-tile will only tile the windows in the current workspace.
3. Set a keyboard shortcut for x-tile h
4. Use that shortcut and experience the bliss of having say, emacs and chrome side by side, or perhaps emacs and a terminal.
